Hello! My name is Oreoluwa and these days nothing brings me more joy than seeing Manchester United glory and Chelsea tearss.
I’ve been at home for quite a while now and I guess it’s given me time to think and re-evaluate a number of things, particularly the direction that the newsletter is taking. In the past week, I took some time to look over earlier issues of the newsletter and a few others that inspired me to start this one. More than most things, I noticed that as time has progressed, the newsletter has become more organized and concise (which is a good thing, I guess), but it has lost a lot of the entropy, freedom, and vulnerability that made it such a good release mechanism. I find that I’m having to be a bit more technical in places where I would ordinarily be informally expressive. And it’s not just the newsletter tbh. It’s been increasingly difficult these days to create new pieces. At first, I thought it was just about my head not being in the right place(which it still might be), but I realize that more and more these days, I’m having to question my artistic nature and tendencies because it seems like I’m now consistently put in a position where I have to choose between making art or being ‘productive’.
And although, that might not necessarily be a bad thing, because growth comes with increased expectations for actions or content tailored towards the audience, albeit at some cost to personal creative choices. However, I’m often left pondering whether I’m really allowing myself to be as vulnerable as I want to be or whether the newsletter has lost its soul in the name of growth. And the more I look at this situation in terms of my art, the more I see it in other areas of life. Have you ever had to give up some of your dreams because you had to “grow up”? I think we’ve all had to at some point.
But what if… Maybe I don’t want to grow up? Maybe I still want to look at life with childlike wonder and create entropic, expressive art. Or maybe I want to get the best of both worlds. Maybe I will, and maybe you should too. Maybe it’s time to dust up your juvenile wonder and pick up something reality made you drop, something that made you happy. Who knows? Maybe you’ll be better for it.
Our Stories…
Have you ever struggled with productivity? Well, have no fear, for the legendary Aremu Mike is here (that sounded way better in my head). He’s a 5th-year medical student, a content creator, and a self-acclaimed King of Legends.
Stay Legendary. Stay Productive. Be like Mike
Why is productivity so important to you? I had some issues with balancing studying with a lot of other interests I started to develop in my 2nd year of university and it felt like studying could be done in a way that'll save time & I'd still have time to pursue other interests. In my quest to chase other interests as a medical student, I stumbled upon Ali Abdaal who was a medical student & was pursuing many other interests. I binged his YouTube channel and it centered around being productive. I applied techniques I learned and they miraculously worked.
At that point, it was Eureka! The whole world & anyone around me had to hear about these techniques to become more productive.
What got you into Content Creation? My YouTube journey is quite funny. I got into YouTube because I realized that I needed to share my "wise thoughts & newfound knowledge" with people around me. Initially started on IG but I got inspired by Justin Ug to move from IG to YouTube.
Now... The deeper truth is that I thought I'd make quick money on YouTube rather than IG but oh well... Things have changed and I'm glad I decided to start my YouTube channel without knowing anything about YouTube. It’s been an interesting and educative experience.
What do you hope to achieve with your channel in the future? Now the goal of My channel is to make sure people don't make the same mistakes I made. To make sure they grow in key areas of their life (Academic, Finance, Relationship, Spiritual, Physical life) and to inadvertently change one life and maybe someday 100,000 lives who wouldn't hide the good news of how we can achieve so much in our little legendary corners.

In Other News…
I became a team member of Capstone Africa this week. It is an organization designed to help startups, and SMEs find innovative ways to capture the market, garner leads, and generate sales for their businesses. I’m excited to see where this journey leads.
Also, as promised, here is a piece that I wrote sometime last year. Hopefully I’m able to create more this year.
Well, I hope you enjoyed reading this. I would love to hear your thoughts, and I’ll be reaching out to you this week to get some ideas and suggestions as to how the newsletter can get better. I’m looking forward to receiving your feedback. Have the best week.
Bless You,
Oreoluwa.
